A close friend of mine told me that once I had found ‘the dress’, not to keep looking, and I absolutely second that advice. The dress I chose was only the third one I tried on. I went back to the salon with my mum and bridesmaids where I tried on eight or nine others, as well as ‘the one’ again. At the insistence of the salon owner, I did go down to the city to look at other dresses, as hers was the only store I’d visited, just to make sure. Believe it or not, despite visiting a number of others salons, I wasn’t even tempted to try on any other dresses, which completely confirmed my thoughts that I’d already found the right one.
Above all, just make sure you soak it in and enjoy every second of dress shopping. Don’t take it too seriously, don’t stress if not everybody falls in love with the dress you choose and make sure it’s something you’re completely comfortable in. (When I could barely walk in one dress I tried on, I knew it was off my list no matter how great it looked!) Once you find your dress, you won’t need to keep trying too many more on, so make the most it and have fun!
Both my dresses were from Maria’s Bridal Studio – she was incredible, so if you’re in the Gippsland area and looking for a dress, make sure you pay her a visit!
